Cycle or Stroll the Coastal Trail from Morell to St. Peter’s Bay

Looking for the trail that captures the soul of PEI? This 11 km stretch between Morell and St. Peter’s Bay is often called the most scenic route on the island—and for good reason. Even the NY Times talked about it!

Winding gently along the shoreline, this part of the Confederation Trail offers jaw-dropping views at every turn. Cross the iconic 235-foot bridge over the Morell River, watch eagles soar above the treetops, and soak in panoramic vistas of Greenwich National Park across the sparkling waters.

As you make your way into St. Peter’s Bay, keep an eye out for rows of floating mussel socks—a signature sight of the Island’s aquaculture scene—before arriving at St. Peter’s Landing, a charming waterfront hub with shops, food, and picture-perfect views.

🌟 Insider Tip: Pack a picnic or grab a bite at the café in St. Peter’s Landing—then catch sunset over the bay for a memory that’ll stick with you long after your ride ends.

Whether you're walking, biking, or just stopping in for the views, this is one PEI experience you don’t want to miss.

Brudenell Miniatures Barnyard Zoo

Brudenell Miniatures Barnyard Zoo is a must-stop for some good old-fashioned, hands-on fun. Meet fuzzy alpacas, goats with big personalities, miniature horses, bunnies, potbelly pigs, and more—plus a quirky collection and farmyard oddballs you didn’t know you needed to see. It’s laid-back, interactive, and full of those “aww!” moments you’ll be talking about long after you’ve left. Feed a llama, snap selfies with the goats, and let the kids run wild .

The Beach That Sings – Basin Head Provincial Park

You’ve never seen—or heard—a beach like this.

Welcome to Basin Head, one of the most talked-about natural wonders on PEI (and across Canada). The sand here literally sings under your feet. Not metaphorically—like actual squeaky, musical magic that earned it national attention from CBC and a top beach ranking from Vacay.ca.

But the real charm? It’s not just the sound—it’s the whole vibe.

We’re talking nine miles of powdery white shoreline, warm waters from the Northumberland Strait, and that famous adrenaline-pumping jump into “The Run.” If you’re a teen, you already know. If you're not? Trust us—you’ll still jump.

There’s a boardwalk that leads right down to the action. Cross the bridge, ride the current, or lay back and listen to the waves (and squeaks) do their thing. Lifeguards are on duty from late June to early September, and there are change rooms, washrooms, and showers so you can rinse the salt off after you’ve had your fun.

Local Dining: Savour the Flavours of PEI

You're on an island, so of course, seafood is a must-try! Here are our top local dining spots:

1. 21 Breakwater – Souris

Right on the waterfront in Souris, 21 Breakwater is a cozy yet stylish eatery where East Coast comfort food gets a modern upgrade. The vibe is relaxed, the cocktails are crafty, and the seafood chowder is a must. Watch fishing boats come and go while you dive into a dish of maple-glazed salmon or crispy fish tacos. If you're lucky, there might be live music while you sip a locally made cider.

2. The Inn at Bay Fortune – Fortune Bridge

This isn’t just a dinner spot—it’s an experience. Chef Michael Smith’s FireWorks Feast at The Inn at Bay Fortune is legendary. Picture a multi-course, open-fire meal made from ingredients harvested just hours before from their on-site farm. You’ll stroll the gardens with a cocktail in hand, then settle into a long-table dinner where every bite tells a story. It’s fine dining that still feels warm and down-to-earth.

3. Bogside Brewing & Smokehouse – Montague

Craft beer, slow-smoked barbecue, and that easygoing Island energy—Bogside Brewing & Smokehouse is where locals gather and travellers feel like they’ve stumbled onto something special. With award-winning brews on tap and a menu full of smoky, finger-lickin' goodness (think brisket, ribs, and all the fixings), this spot hits every note. The vibe is chill, the patio is always buzzing, and the beer? Cold, creative, and brewed

4 .Dinger's Dive  – Montague

Small, unassuming, and absolutely unforgettable—Dingers Dive is the kind of hole-in-the-wall you almost don’t want to tell anyone about… but it’s too good to keep secret. The menu is all about bold flavours, generous portions, and dishes made with serious love. It’s the spot you duck into for a casual bite and end up dreaming about long after you’ve left. No frills, no fuss—just downright delicious food that makes it one of my absolute favourite hidden gems on the Island.
